According to a Vail Resorts news release, Breckenridge broke its old record of 46 inches back from 2006 when it hit 48 on Wednesday. Breckenridge wasn’t the only town in Summit County positively affected with accumulating snowflakes.

Keystone had enough early season snow to open Oct. 12, earlier than it had in decades.

Locals and tourists are exited to get on the slopes early this year and anxious to hear the announced skiable acres that will be available opening day – Nov. 8.

Breckenridge provides 1,600,750 annual skiers and boarders a total of 2,908 skiable acres during their full ski season. Breckenridge is the 2nd most visited ski resort in America following their sister resort, Vail, according to Travel and Leisure.

Not only is Breckenridge so loved for their resort, tourists love the lively historic town including almost 200 shops and boutiques and about 100 restaurants. There is always something for everyone in the family to enjoy throughout the day and into the evening.
